Snakes on the Table

Today our activity is based on a Chapter "Why do Snakes shed their skin?" from "Little kids First big book of Why? While reading we learnt that As the Snakes grow older, their Skin does not grow, thus when the skin becomes too tight it just falls off.

Materials needed:

  • Play-Doh

  • Googly eyes

  • pom-poms

  • Paper

  • Paint

  • Scissors

  • Glue

Steps:

  1. Roll some play-doh into a shape of a Snake, make another set of play-doh to show the skin falling off for the kids.

2. We also made some paper cut outs of the Snakes. One of them was stamped with pompoms dipped with colors. The other two we just let the children make random designs with colors.

Fun facts about Snakes:

  • Snakes smell with their tongues.

  • Snakes are found on every continent except Antarctica

  • Some snakes eat only ones or twice a year.
